Healthy snacks for babies and toddlers

Of course, your baby and toddler can have an unhealthy snack once in a while. And if he/she picks up a chip once in a while, there’s no harm done. But it is not recommended to make this a habit.

Offer your baby and toddler healthy snacks at regular times every day. For example, in the morning (between breakfast and lunch) and in the afternoon (between lunch and dinner). This will prevent your child from eating small bites throughout the day, and this way he/she will still get enough energy to play and grow.

Healthy snacks for up to 1 year old

  • Rice cake

From 1 year old

When your baby is 1, he can eat everything you are eating. You can continue to give him the above products as snacks, but you may also give him the following healthy snacks from now on:

  • Raisins
  • Dried apples or other dried fruit
  • Fresh vegetables like a piece of cucumber
  • A cube of cheese 
  • A homemade ice cream made of fruit puree
